Developing Caterpillars:

(Infants program ages six weeks – 12 months)

building a sense of trust…

At this age, infants are building a sense of trust with their caregiver, as well as developing a sense of self. To help infants form a trustworthy relationship with their teacher, TELDC team members respond to their needs promptly, consistently, and with quality care. We understand the importance of trustworthiness and healthy learning that's why we hold, cuddle, play, and talk with your child throughout the day. Teachers build your child’s sense of self through simple games such as “peek-a-boo.” Teachers promote readiness for later learning and encourage infants to grow in developmental areas such as:

  • Language Development, through playing different kinds of songs, reading a variety of books, and introducing simple sign language

  • Cognitive Development, through a safe and stimulating environment for the baby to explore and solve problems

  • Physical Development, through supervised tummy time

  • Social/Emotional Development, through activities such as but not limited to “unbreakable” mirrors and “peek-a-boo."
